O’Brien Law is a boutique litigation law firm which handles litigation matters throughout the State of California. The firm maintains offices in the Northern California, Southern California, and the Central Valley. The firm was founded in 2016 and has grown from two attorneys to three offices and 10 attorneys statewide in just 5 years.
O’Brien Law believes its first responsibility is to serve its clients. This means more than providing excellent legal services. This means providing excellent customer service as well. Our case reporting standards are second to none. Our attorneys are available whenever you need them. Our response time is unparalleled. Many firms believe that client interaction ends after the initial consultation. We believe the client is integral to the process and our job is to make the process as simple, straightforward, and understandable as possible.
O’Brien Law handles a broad spectrum of matters. On the general counsel front the firm represents corporations throughout the state with their general day to day matters, including contract review, employment advice, litigation matters and other issues which arise in the normal course of business. The firm also has relationships with specialists in various areas with whom we coordinate should a specific need arise. For example, the firm is currently assisting with a $15 million merger deal for one of its clients with the assistance of expert M&A counsel.
We are also counsel for many national insurance companies and are defending over 150 lawsuits for these companies in 20 counties around California. The litigation includes construction defect, commercial auto, wrongful death, trust and probate, subrogation, premises liability, real estate, landlord/tenant, insurance coverage, employment litigation, uninsured and underinsured motorist, professional liability, and claims arising from commercial general liability policies. We also represent several municipalities in California and multiple corporations in both transactional and litigation matters.
Most recently, we arbitrated the matter of McCarthy v. Current Construction. The matter involved concrete and wood flooring which plaintiff claimed was defectively installed by our client and the general contractor. While the arbitrator returned an award in excess of $1 million, our client was found to have no liability in the matter, and we received a total defense verdict. We are now pursuing fees and costs against the other defendants.
We maintain offices in Northern California, Southern California, and the Central Valley. We do not charge travel time between the closest office and the location of service, which provides a huge benefit to our insurance clients. We are proficient in complying with insurance company billing policies and procedures and interfacing third party billing companies.
