MICHAEL VASQUEZ has practiced law in California since 1984. Before joining O’Brien Law PC, Mike had his own practice specializing in products liability. Before that, Mike was a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a 425 attorney, national law firm based in Chicago, Illinois. Mike earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California.
Mike has defended hundreds of products liability cases including asbestos cases involving catastrophic personal injuries and damages. In addition to his products liability practice, Mike has defended dentists, doctors, lawyers and real estate agents and brokers in professional liability suits. Mike has also defended non-products liability personal injury and premises liability cases. Mike has arbitrated and mediated numerous cases and has tried more than 50 cases to juries, including 13 trials to verdict.
Mike has published articles in the area of civil procedure and professional liability. These include, “Apportionment ofDmage Awards Under Proposition 51: New Developments,” Legal Ledger, Vol. 4, No. 4, Sept. 1993; Action Guide: Meeting Statutory Deadlines ( co-authored), Continuing Education of the Bar, University of California/State Bar of California, 1990; “TMJ Claims Prevention Tips,” Journal of the California Dental Association, 1990. Mike has been named a Northern California “Super Lawyer” 6 times since 2006 by San Francisco Magazine. He has an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Mike is a member of the Marin County Bar Association, The Bar Association of San Francisco, The Defense Research Institute and the La Raza Lawyers Association.
